Manning House has entertained thousands of people since its reopening in 2000 with events ranging from large scale dance parties like Gatecrasher and Sublime@Home, Asian Dub Foundation, The Avalanches and The Crystal Method to popular Australian acts like The Whitlams, 1200 Techniques and Machine Gun Fellatio. The venue has also hosted such speakers as Clive Robertson and recently the voice of Bart Simpson, Nancy Cartwright. Student performers and up & coming artists also utilise the venue through our annual campus band comp, regular student DJ sessions and competition as well as programs like Manning the Decks and Weekend Warm Up; weekly nights of experimental and chill out music.
The new building includes a 990+ capacity space on Level 2 for concerts, debates, films and live performances, but also incorporates meeting rooms and catering outlets. Use of the building as a whole (including gardens) has a capacity of up to 2 500.
